For my charity event, I took part in the 5k Foam Fest which is a fundraising event for Make-a-Wish Canada. This charity run has been going strong for over a decade and has raised nearly $5 million for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Many people were wearing fun costumes for the race and there were participants of all ages. During the race, I had to climb over walls, crawl through dirt, run through foam, go down slip and slides, and make my way through multiple obstacle courses. The whole event was full of energy, laughter, and a lot of mud.
This was my first 5km run, and crossing the finish line left me feeling a huge sense of accomplishment (and the need to shower). I’m already looking forward to participating in this amazing event again next year with my friends.
