Every year as part of Movember, we host a Split the G tournament to raise money for charity. We have 64 participants and a large number of spectators. In total over the past 5 years we have raised just over €20,000 ($30,000) for mental health services in Ireland and now Canada.
What is Split the G tournament? It’s a 64 participant knockout style tournament, where people go head to head to try and drink their pint of Guinness and finish as close to the line of the G on the glass as possible.
To increase donations we held a raffle, with prizes donated from Canadian based Irish businesses. This gives their brand great exposure within the Irish community here in Vancouver.
This year we raised funds for the BC Mental Health Foundation and BC Cancer. The total amount raised so far this November is $2,000.
